Product condition and availability
The value of products sold through Elitewhisky.com is in collectability of the containers, but not the contents. Quality on vintage whisky as a consumable product cannot be guaranteed due to the age of the bottles and unknown factors such as storage temperature and other factors. Therefore no warranty can be provided on the contents of the bottles, as they are not intended for consumption.
Due to the varying age and state of bottles, any item sold on our website may contain damages in the form of scratches, denting, tears, rips and label stains to both bottles and boxes. We will as best as we can attempt to capture any defaults in the lot picture and description. If any unclarity remains as to the actual state of the item, it is the buyer’s responsibility to request additional pictures. No claim or right to refund can be lodged to any form of damages as described and /or pictured in the item description.
We always strive to ensure you receive items in perfect condition. However, due to the different ages on bottles and its effects on the seals and labels, we cannot take any responsibility for failure or leakage in transit. On older bottles we will use protective parafilm to ensure any leakage is kept to a minimum.
Products are subject to availability at any point in time. If upon order processing any issues on stock availability arise, we will contact the buyer to arrange compensation in the form of a refund or option to purchase another item of similar value.
Delivery and shipping
Elitewhisky offers worldwide shipping either with UPS or DHL depending on the destination. Delivery is however subject to local laws & regulations around import of products containing alcohol. Elitewhisky cannot be held accountable for any problems that arise due to local customs and regulations policies.
We strive to process orders within 48 hours after payment completion. Please note that we cannot guarantee punctuality of our 3rd party logistics provider’s services. Delays are therefore possible on below delivery estimates
EU – 2 to 4 working days
World – 8 to 12 working days

Cancellations and returns
In an event where you are not happy with the order, it can be cancelled and/or returned within 14 days of purchasing. Any costs incurred to return the order are the responsibility of the buyer. Please send an email to our customer services team for details on how to proceed with a return. Upon receipt, we will inspect the bottle and packaging to ensure the product is in the exact same condition as the point of original sale to you. We will then refund the costs of the order within 30 days of receipt into our warehouse.
We pack bottles using double-walled cardboard boxes, bubble wrap and plenty of additional insulation. However in the very unlikely event of a severely damaged parcel with obvious signs of leakage, we ask the buyer to refuse receipt of the parcel and request the courier to return the goods to sender. In case of damaged goods inside the parcel, please ensure to contact us immediately through our customer service email. We will require detailed photographs of the bottle, seal, inner and outer packaging.
If you have received the wrong goods, please contact us immediately through our customer service email. We will either replace the order with the correct product or refund the order in full, thereby covering any additional shipping charges.
Customs and duties
Products sold are subject to the Dutch taxation system. VAT, if applicable, will always be charged upon the sale of a product both within and outside the EU. We cannot deduct VAT for sales outside the EU.
Any form of import taxes, duties and associated administrative costs are to be born by you, the buyer. As customs policies vary greatly from country to country, it is your responsibility to contact your local customs department for further information.
For some products sold on our website, the value is in the collectible glass container and not its contents. This is valid especially for very old products which are not intended for consumption as the quality can no longer be guaranteed. We will therefore in certain cases label the products as “collectible glass containers” instead of “whisky” on customs forms for shipping outside the EU. In certain countries it may however not be legal to purchase and ship any product containing alcohol online. It is your responsibility to check your local laws and regulations before making a purchase on our website. We cannot be held liable in case of loss and/or destruction on shipments outside the EU due to various customs regulations.
