Perhaps unexpectedly, Caol ila is the largest distillery on islay in terms of output. And while their 12 and 18yo core range can be found in local shops, they are certainly not as well represented as some other distilleries on Islay. This is because like many other distilleries, most of Caol Ila’s output is used in blends.
